Wow I know its been a long time since I have posted on this blog. Its supposed to be all about our travels - but we have not been any where since June last year. But I guess there is no reason why I can't blog about just anything that is remotely interesting.
I have started the new year with a new outlook and have decided to get healthy and motivated. On January 2nd I commenced on what was going be a 30 day juice fast. I decided this after watching the movie
Fat Sick and Nearly Dead - it really is a very inspiring movie. Its about an Australian -
Joe Cross who went to America to do a 60 day juice fast and lost an astonishing amount of weight - and he has kept it off also.
I started out strong then got half way through week two and decided that I needed to add some food into my diet - so I have been juicing and adding raw foods and small amounts of cooked protein into my diet. I am now up to Day 24 and have lost weight - so far 3.4kgs which I am really happy about, considering this time last year I was 9kgs heavier.
I am feeling good - well not yesterday. But overall feel much happier, much lighter and feel like I am doing my body a great favour. The interesting thing is if I have any processed food or chocolate I feel awful, and the sugar just puts me on a real high.
To make myself accountable for the food that I put into my mouth I created another blog - so I could be honest with myself and share my journey with others. I have been amazed at the amount of people who have read the blog and are being encouraged to change their eating habits because of what I am doing. So I am really grateful for this.
I have not had any caffiene, no bad fats, only a small amount of chocolate (which made me feel terrible), no alcohol in the 24 days. I have sat here and watched my other half eat chocolate, bacon and eggs, takeaways and drink alcohol - so I think I have done really well.
