Samui By Scooter

We hired a scooter for the day and explored the island.

Nick on our scooter

Buddha's everywhere

The Rambutan fruit

The Dragon Fruit also known as the Pitaya.
Does not have much of a taste - but its quite refreshing.

Energy drinks galore

And fruit drinks - full of sugar

Spot the mistake.....

Fascinating

Thailands most famous Mummified Monk - he died more than 20 years ago and shows barely any signs of decay.

Feel like a bottle of wine - well maybe 5L of wine....

Car Park at Tesco's - the supermarket

A gorgeous beach we came across

My favourite Mango and Sticky Rice

One of the many temples around Koh Samui

The entrance to Wat Samret

The famous White Marble Buddha which is said to be approx 100 years old

The White Buddha is in a room full of these other buddhas

A common sight in Thailand I am sure.

Interesting selection of shots

The "Monkey Brain" Cocktail
rather nice to!!
In an ice glass

One of the many ice sculptures in the bar

Morning Walk

Awake at 0550 something nearly every morning - we decided to go for a walk down through the Fishermans Village just a few steps from our hotel.

The gorgeous pool at our hotel

The amazing power lines seen down every street in Koh Samui - this is Fishermans Village at Bophut Beach at 0600 hrs - noone around.

Love this - outside the Karma Sutra Cafe

"The Red Barron" is moared at the pier at Fishermans Village and is available for private charter and brunch/sunset cruises.

Sun Rising at Bophut Beach - Koh Samui

Holiday - Koh Samui June 2012

Off to Koh Samui we go again. We loved it so much the first time that we had to come back again. The people are fabulous, the food is amazing and the sun is almost always shining - what more could you ask for.....

We stayed at the Hansar Samui (same as last time) love this place for the amazing views that are seen from all of the rooms - the picture above is taken from the balcony of our room.
The location is fabulous with Fishermans Village just a minutes walk away which has amazing restaurants and some great little shops.

Boys climbing the palm trees to feed them - quite amazing to watch

And down he comes - just like a monkey...

The view from the pool across the ocean - the sky is grey but the day is hot...
